An Instrument of the Living God

Well, today was my last “official” Sunday singing on praise team at The Light Church of Christ.  I began singing on praise team in Spring of my Junior year.  I’m so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to sing with an amazing group of people from a church that I love dearly!

This experience has made me further realize how important it is to use my talent and voice for His glory & to minister to others.  It’s such an amazing feeling to know that you played a role in bringing my Church family closer to God and helping them give Him all the praise that He deserves by helping lead them in song.

As I move to Florence and begin attending UNA in just a couple short weeks, it will be too difficult to predict what Sundays I will be in town to be able to sing on praise team, so I’m leaving for now (and hopefully not for good).  Love y’all!

I start school here. In less than 20 days. Mind. Blown. I move to Florence, AL. In less than 16 days. Wow.

My life lately has been full of several ups and downs, good days and sad days, bittersweet goodbyes & exciting new beginnings. I graduated from Madison Academy, where I had attended school for 13 years, on May 22, 2011 (which was also my 18th birthday). Since then, my Summer has been filled with taking some basic classes at Calhoun Community College, lots of college shopping and planning, spending some much needed time with family and friends, and getting ready to start “the next chapter” of my life.

I’ll be living in an apartment in Florence, AL starting in a couple of weeks and attending college at the University of North Alabama majoring in Choral Music Education. I am so incredibly excited and humbled at the amazing opportunities God has placed in my life and I can’t wait to see how He uses me at UNA! Of course, I’m ecstatic about the whole “college experience” beginning soon, but making the UNA Collegiate Singers AND Chamber Choir really adds to my excitement and anticipation to begin at UNA!

Can’t wait to be an “official” UNA Lion in 3 weeks!

Okay, so I finally broke down and thought I’d try tumblr.  I used to blog about 2 years ago and recently started back when….dun dun dun…blogspot RANDOMLY deleted my blog one day!  I’m extremely mad considering I LOVED going back and reading old blogs to see how far I’ve come the past few years.

But anyways…I’m pretty excited about giving tumblr a try!  I think it’s important to document things that’s happening in my life (especially with about to move to a new city and start my first year of college)! This blog (tumblr, whatever you call it) will be used to document my journey of beginning college, becoming a music educator, and a better child of God. Okay so yeah, follow me!
